ANTON WE HAVE JUST HEARD THAT DR WALLACE HAS BEEN ERASED FROM THE MEDICAL REGISTER AFTER THE GENERAL MEDICAL COUNCIL REVIEWED HER 12 MONTHS SUSPENSION FOR HER SERIOUS MISCONDUCT SHE HAS 28 DAYS TO APPEAL WHICH I DON'T THINK SHE WILL AS SHE DID NOT TURN UP FOR THE FIRST HEARING OR THIS REVIEW IT HAS TAKEN SO LONG FOR THIS VERDICT AND IT IS JUSTIFIED...............
The General Medical Council have decided that Dr Wallace is to be suspended from the medical register for 12 months
The panel found Dr Wallace treatment of Anton was seriously inadequate and not at a standard expected of a reasonably competent GP, they added that Dr Wallace made significant breaches of good medical practise, the findings against Dr Wallace are serious. The case was centred on Dr Wallace repeated failings in her managment of Anton's care, Dr Wallace failed to take any basic examinations or tests of Anton, The panel found that Dr Wallace fitness to practise is impaired by reason of her misconduct.
The general medical found that Dr Millers treatment of Anton was inappropriate but they did not apply any sanctions to Dr Miller as he had remedied the deficiencies and has changed his working practises and is still doing so by attending courses on communication skills.
We feel that if the doctors had helped Anton sooner and examined him properly then he would have been refered for heart surgery and would have survived,
This makes us all very angry and this is why for the last 4 years we have been fighting for the doctors to be refered to the fitness to practise hearing, We are pleased as we really want justice for Anton and we dont want another family to go through the loss of a loved one through fault of doctors. We hope you can all make the dance and the football game to raise funds for such a good cause. Thanks to everyone for their continued support.
Thank you everyone who lights a candle or tribute for our son Anton, it is very nice to read them from friends and family also from people who don't know him it helps us in our loss.
Antons Memorial Dance was a brilliant night, thanks to all who came to the dance, Also a big thanks to Twin Towns CSC
We have raised £3261. from the Dance and donations thanks to everyone
Next years dance is booked for fri 18th September 2009 , hope you can all make it next year.
Our son and brother Anton Rogan White was 15 years old when he died on 12th September 2004.
Anton was a character, always full of patter and loved a party, He was big Celtic supporter who followed his team over the world with his dad He loved sitting at the back of the supporters bus to be part of the laughs and jokes, he had an answer for everything and always came up with one liners. Anton died age 15 it was very unexpected. Doctors think his death was caused by Anton being born with a hole in the heart which he was probably born with but it had never been detected until it was too late, He went into hospital and was on an ECMO machine to rest his heart, Anton was on this machine for 2 weeks but sadly it was too late and Anton died from cardiomyopathy at Yorkhill hospital on 12th Sept 2004
Anton comes from a very large family and lots of friends who have been left devastated by his death. Anton loved hanging around with his big brother Bobby and loved winding up Bobby's pal Fishy, He also hung around with his pals and sometimes his mum Anna who took him to Luss to jump the pier and many other places and also with sister Andrea, Eddie and the kids, his niece an nephew Connor and Daisy and new niece Poppy Antonia who sadly didnt get to meet Anton Antons memory will live on forever. We have raised lots of money for yorkhill, intensive care unit where Anton recieved the best of care, We have had 2 memorial dances and are planning another this year in Sept and have Golf and Football tournaments now a yearly event in Anton's memory.
Please light a candle or a tribute as we all love hearing about Anton

Docs ordered to apologise after Anton White, 15, dies despite four examinations in four months Mar 30 2008 By Fariha Karim
Watchdog Blames Gps Who Failed To Check Pulse Of Tragic Heart Boy Exclusive
TWO doctors have been ordered to apologise for failing to make simple checks on a teenager who died of multiple organ failure.
A shocking report from a health watchdog reveals Anton White, 15, could have survived if GPs Agnes Wallace, 60, and James Miller, 48, had bothered to check his pulse or listen to his heart.
The schoolboy died after four visits to the medics in four months failed to spot signs of dilated cardiomyopathy, meaning his weakened and enlarged heart could not pump blood properly.
Despite the teen complaining of breathlessness, they did not conduct routine tests but told him he was suffering from panic attacks and had stomach problems.
By the time he was diagnosed properly it was too late to give him the heart transplant that could have saved him.
Scottish Public Services Ombudsman Professor Alice Brown blamed Dr Wallace and Dr Miller and in a rare move told them to say sorry to Anton's parents Bobby and Anna.
The couple, of Clydebank, have reported the GPs to the General Medical Council and are considering legal action.
MumAnna, 48, a learning assistant at Clydebank High School, said: "I felt very angry when the report came out.
"I knew all along they weren't being professional. The most upsetting part is things could have been different.
Had he got into hospital earlier, there would have been a chance.
"Death is so final, we would have taken the heart transplant. Even if he had died while getting it, everything possible would have been tried.
"But it was too late. By the time he got to hospital his heart was the size of a football. There was no chance - all his organs were failing.
"The doctors failed Anton. I don't think I'll ever get over it."
Anton vomited every day for four months, suffered palpitations and ran out of breath going upstairs.
He visited Dr Wallace at Clydebank Health Centre three times before seeing Dr Miller.
Dr Wallace - who has since retired - first prescribed Anton beta-blockers and sent him to a psychiatrist as she thought he suffered from panic attacks.
He got worse and began vomiting blood while his weight plummeted by 10lb and he became lethargic.
A month later Anton again saw Dr Wallace and the Whites say they told him their son was short of breath climbing stairs and his heart was beating fast. The GP agreed to review the effect of the beta-blockers.
Five weeks later Dr Wallace, of Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire, still failed to examine him properly. She referred him to a stomach specialist and prescribed an ulcer treatment.
Two weeks later Anna returned with Anton as his condition worsened.
The family claim Dr Miller, a married dad of three from Bearsden, near Glasgow, simply changed Anton's medication.
Anton returned three days later on August 27 when he was seen by Dr Michael Fletcher, who spotted a "bluish tinge" in his complexion and immediately sent him to Glasgow's Western Infirmary. He was moved to Yorkhill Hospital the next morning but died after two weeks on a lifesupport machine.
Pipe fitter Bobby, 48, said: "When Anton came out of the doctors, he knew something was wrong and felt he was hitting his head against a brick wall. For most doctors, alarm bells would ring if a 15-year-old was that ill.
"If DrWallace had taken his pulse the first time, she could have found out it was something serious. They have destroyedmy faith in the health service."
The ombudsman took evidence from a GP adviser and heart specialist, who criticised Dr Wallace and Dr Miller. Prof Brown said: "This is a tragic case and I can appreciate Mr and Mrs White's concerns that, had an earlier referral and diagnosis been made, their son may have been able to have a transplant.
"The advice I received is that, with appropriate and timely specialist help, he may have survived.
"The ombudsman recommends that Dr Wallace and Dr Miller apologise to Mr and Mrs White for the shortcomings identified in the report."
She also wrote: "Whenever the symptom of palpitation is mentioned, aGP should at least feel the pulse and consider listening to the heart."
The General Medical Council said: "We are unable to confirm whether any doctor is being investigated."
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: "GPs are independent contractors but the board will work with doctors to ensure theombudsman's recommendations are implemented."
Dr Wallace and Dr Miller declined to comment last night.

MAILFILE Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a condition where the heart gets weakened, enlarged and cannot pump blood efficiently. The decreased heart function can affect the lungs, liver and other body systems. It occurs more often in men than women and is most common between 20 and 60. DCM is often fatal, with a risk of sudden death, but drug treatments can prolong life and a heart transplant may be considered
